Getting from Singapore to Yong Peng by Express Bus, Taxi and Self Drive
There are various ways to reach Yong Peng from Singapore. Time taken to reach Yong Peng is around two to three hours depending greatly on the traffic condition. Generally, bus, taxi, tour van and self drive are common transport modes to Yong Peng. Train is not recommended as there is no railway station in Yong Peng and it would take longer time to reach the town.
1) Singapore to Yong Peng by Express Bus
a) From Boon Lay / Golden Mile Complex
Malaysia well-known bus operator, Five Stars Express (M) Sdn Bhd, provides route from Singapore to Yong Peng on a daily basis. The earliest route starts at 9am and the last route ends at 8.15pm. You could hop on the bus at Boon Lay or Golden Mile Complex. Each ticket costs you around SGD 20 only.
Please note that you have to disembark with your belongings from the bus in order to proceed to the immigration clearance. After the clearance, re-board the bus to continue your journey to Yong Peng.
b) From Larkin Bus Terminal Johor Bahru
You could take Singapore public bus in order to reach Larkin Bus Terminal. There are three well-known bus operators, SBS Transit, Causeway Link (CW) and Singapore-Johore Express (SJE) which provides the route to Larkin Bus Terminal from different parts of Singapore.
From Kranji MRT Station
- CW 1 – Fare: SGD 1.50 by cash only
From Queen Street Terminal
- SBS 170 (Red Plate) – Fare: SGD 1.96 by EZ-Link Card or SGD 2.50 by cash
- CW 2 – Fare: SGD 3.30 by cash only
- SJE – Fare: SGD 3.30 by cash only
From Jurong East Bus & MRT Interchange
- CW 3 – Fare: SGD 4.00 by cash only
From Boon Lay MRT Station
- CW 6 – Fare: SGD 4.00 by cash only
Again you have to disembark with your belongings from the bus for immigration clearance. After the clearance, re-board the bus of same operator and not necessary the same bus boarded earlier.
After reaching Larkin Bus Terminal, take any express bus to Segamat as Yong Peng do not have any bus terminal. Confirm at the ticket booth that the bus will stop by the rest station of Yong Peng: either Lucky Garden or Ming Ang Restaurant.
Well-known bus operator such as S&S International Express and Transnasional are recommended.

- Transnasional – Fare: RM17.10
Lastly, do be alert during the long journey to avoid missing miss the stop!
2) Singapore to Yong Peng by Public Taxi
Only licensed taxis are allowed to cross into Malaysia. The Malaysia Yellow taxis in Ban San Street are permitted to take the passengers to Larkin Bus Terminal with a fare around SGD 12/pax.
After arriving at Larkin Bus Terminal, hail a local taxi to Yong Peng. However most taxi drivers may be reluctant to take the journey because of the long distance and a high probability of return empty loaded (no passengers). So it would be very costly to go Yong Peng by Taxi.
3) Singapore to Yong Peng by Self Drive
Driving from Singapore to Yong Peng is rather straightforward. One could choose to travel via Woodlands Causeway or Tuas Second Link. After clearing the immigration, head north and follow road sign to Kuala Lumpur.
PLUS North South Highway is recommended unless you are familiar with trunk road. All you need to do is just drive along the North South Expressway and follow the road signs. You shall see Simpang Renggam exit which is half way between Singapore to Yong Peng. After Ayer Hitam, you should be able to see Yong Peng (South) Exit in 15-20 minutes. Take the Yong Peng (South) exit towards the destination.
